OUR STORY

How Ma’Cake came to be.

What started almost by accident has turned into a consuming passion. After leaving my full time job to look after the birth of my wonderful son, Matthew, I started making cakes for family and friends birthdays and special occasions. Based on the very positive reactions I discovered I actually had a talent for cake decorating. Then Ma’ Cake was born. Ma’ Cake, the Ma’ actually stands for Matthew my son’s name.

Having had difficulty to conceive made me dedicate this business to him. He’s not only my inspiration for my work but also the reason why I do this. There’s nothing like the feeling I get when I hear him say WOW when he sees the cake and to top it off seeing his face light up when eating it. That made the most precious moment in my life. The look is priceless. This is the look that I’m after when I deliver the cakes. Seeing is believing. That big smiley face from customers makes all of the hard work pay off.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

CONTRIBUTING OUR TALENTS TO WORTHY CHARITIBLE CAUSES.

To us social responsibility means being concerned for the wellbeing of our employees, customers, suppliers and community. Social responsibility is a core value and we ensure every decision we make prioritises having a positive impact.

Social responsibility takes many forms. Some examples of positive impacts we have is our involvement in charity events and fundraisers;  ensuring dietary requirements are understood and taken seriously; covering for staff if unable to work.

We do regularly reach out to charities to offer our help. Charities should contact us to discuss how we might get involved.

Some examples how we can cater for specific dietary requirements are dairy free, gluten free, nut free, sugar free. We tend to go beyond just substituting ingredients, instead crafting a delicious alternative recipe (some of which are on our recipes section).
